Doing a habit with friends works because somebody notices when you skip. Most habit trackers are built for one person, but a few are built for groups. Here are five worth knowing, what each is best for, and who should choose it. We make the first one, so we've tried hard to be fair to the others.

StreakParty: best for real accountability with a few friends
You start a "party" for one habit, invite the friends you want, and everyone checks in, with a photo as proof if you like. The party has a leaderboard and a group chat, and friends can send a boost or a "your turn" nudge. A party can track a number (kilometres, minutes, money) and chart it, and a limit party counts the weeks you stayed under a line instead. A missed day can be covered with a streak freeze, and the party sees that it was used.
Free plan: Unlimited personal habits, up to 3 shared parties of up to 6 people, 30 days of history, 2 streak freezes. Boosts, nudges, chat and friends are free on every plan. No Apple Watch app or Health integration. More about StreakParty with friends.
Habitica: best if a game keeps you going
Habitica turns habits, dailies and to-dos into a role-playing game. Your party fights boss monsters together, and missed dailies hurt the whole party, which is its own kind of accountability. It has guilds, challenges and a web version. The game is a lot to take in if all you want is to track one habit. StreakParty vs Habitica.
Habitify: best for a polished personal tracker
Habitify runs on phones, Mac, Apple Watch and the web, and connects to Apple Health, Google Fit and calendars. You can challenge friends and join monthly challenges with leaderboards, but the social side is optional. The free plan covers 3 active habits. StreakParty vs Habitify.
Finch: best for gentle self-care
Finch has you look after a virtual pet bird by completing small self-care goals, with mood check-ins and reflections alongside. Friends connect with a code and send each other encouragement, but it's deliberately low-pressure rather than competitive. StreakParty vs Finch.
Streaks: best for tracking on your own on Apple devices
Streaks is a polished personal tracker for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. It can complete habits automatically from Apple Health data, and you can share a task with friends or family who also use it. It's a one-time purchase and Apple-only, so it won't work for friends on Android. StreakParty vs Streaks.

We make StreakParty, so read this with that in mind. We've tried to be fair about where the other app is better. If something here is out of date, tell us at support@streakparty.com and we'll fix it.
