This Privacy Policy explains how StreakParty ("StreakParty", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the StreakParty mobile app, web app, and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — your email address, display name, and password (stored only as a salted hash — we never store your actual password), plus an optional avatar photo, bio, and location if you add them to your profile.
- Social sign-in — if you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. We never receive or store your password for those services.
- Habit and streak data — the streaks you create or join, your daily check-ins, optional check-in photos you upload, and any optional note you record with a check-in.
- Health and fitness information — where a streak party measures one, the amount you record with a check-in (for example a distance, a duration, a number of pages, an amount of money, or a weight and repetitions), and the optional mood and energy ratings you can log before and after. These are optional: you choose whether to record them and you can leave them blank. We use them only to show you and your streak party your own progress. We never use health or fitness information for advertising, and we never sell it or share it with an advertiser or data broker.
- Social content — friend connections, messages you send in direct and group chats, streak invitations, and the boosts and nudges you send to friends, including the quote you picked and any note you wrote.
- Purchase records — if you buy StreakParty Pro or a streak freeze pack, we receive a record of that purchase from the app store through our purchase provider: which product, when it started, when it renews or expires, and whether it is in a free trial. We use it to know what your account has access to. We never receive or store your card details — the payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us.
Information collected automatically
- Session and device information — basic device/browser identifiers (such as the user-agent string) used to manage your login sessions securely.
- A push notification identifier — if you allow notifications, our notification provider assigns your installation an identifier, which we link to your account so that a notification meant for you reaches your device and nobody else's. It is not an advertising identifier and is not used to track you.
- Your time zone — so that a daily check-in reminder arrives in your evening rather than someone else's. This is a time-zone name reported by your device, not a location: it is no more precise than a region, and we never request or receive your device's location.
- Usage records — timestamps such as when you last logged in or checked in, used to power streak counts, leaderboards, and achievements.
Email addresses of people you invite
If you invite someone to StreakParty by typing their email address, we store that address so we can send them a single invitation and connect the two of you if they join. This is the only case where we hold information about a person who does not have an account.
- We send one invitation per address, per sender. We never send reminders or follow-ups, and we never use an invited address for marketing, newsletters, or anything other than that one invitation.
- We never share the inviter's email address with the recipient, or the recipient's with anyone else.
- Every invitation contains a one-click link to opt out. Opting out is immediate and permanent: that address can no longer be invited by anyone, from any account.
- Invitations expire after 30 days. Addresses from expired invitations that were never accepted are deleted, apart from a record of any opt-out, which we must keep in order to honour it.
- To opt an address out without waiting for an invitation, or to have one removed, email support@streakparty.com.
Invitations can also be shared as a link, through your own messaging apps. When you do that we never see who you sent it to.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and the Service does not show third-party ads.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the Service — accounts, streak tracking, leaderboards, achievements, friends, messaging, boosts, and your home feed.
- To keep you signed in and keep your account secure (authentication tokens, session management).
- To send push notifications, if you allow them — a nudge or boost from a friend, a new message, a friend request, and a daily reminder if you still have a check-in open that day. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
- To determine what your account has access to — whether you are on the free plan or StreakParty Pro, and how many streak freezes you hold.
- To send service emails such as email verification and password resets, and to send a single invitation to an address you ask us to invite.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
- To maintain safety — investigating abuse, spam, or violations of our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who can see your content
- Public streaks — the streak name, description, member list, leaderboard, and your check-in activity within it are visible to other StreakParty users who view or join that streak.
- Private streaks — visible only to their members.
- Profile — your display name, avatar, bio, achievements, and shared streaks are visible to other users, such as your friends and streak co-members.
- Messages — visible only to the participants of that conversation. Any member of a group chat can add their own friends to it; new members see messages sent from the point they join. Direct conversations can never gain participants.
- Check-in photos — visible to members of the streak you posted them in.
- Boosts and nudges — a boost or nudge you send is visible only to the person you sent it to, and shows your name and avatar.
- Streak freezes — using a freeze is visible to everyone in that streak party, on the calendar and in the party's feed. This is deliberate: a freeze covers a day you missed, and your party can see that the day was covered rather than completed.
- Amounts you record — where a streak party measures one, the amount on a check-in is visible to that party's members, in the leaderboard and the party's chart. It is not visible outside that party.
- Home feed — your feed shows boosts sent to you, badges your friends have earned, and people joining streaks you're in. It never reveals anything a friend hasn't already made visible to you.
4. Service providers
We share data only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the Service:
- Hosting and database — our servers, database, and uploaded photos are hosted on Railway.
- Sign-in providers — Google and Meta (Facebook), only when you choose to sign in with them.
- Email delivery — transactional emails (verification, password reset) are sent through Resend.
- Push notifications — delivered through OneSignal, which holds the notification identifier described above.
- Purchases — StreakParty Pro and freeze packs are sold by Apple's App Store and Google Play, and the status of a purchase is managed for us by RevenueCat. Your payment details stay with the app store and never reach us.
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not sell or share your personal information with data brokers or advertisers, and there are no advertising or analytics trackers in the Service.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. Login session records expire and are removed automatically. When you delete your account, your profile, streak memberships, check-ins, photos, messages, boosts you have sent or received, and friend connections are deleted, and all active sessions are revoked. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on the backup rotation schedule.
Records of a purchase held by Apple, Google, or our purchase provider are kept under those companies' own policies, and we may need to retain a record of a transaction for tax and accounting purposes. Deleting your StreakParty account does not delete those records, and it does not cancel a subscription — cancel that in your app store, as described in our Terms of Service.
6. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. You can also request deletion by contacting us — see Delete your account for details. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the Australian Privacy Act and the GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app (edit your profile, delete your account), or by contacting us at the address below. If you believe we have not handled your information properly, you may also lodge a complaint with your local privacy regulator.
8. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures: passwords are hashed with bcrypt, authentication uses short-lived signed tokens with rotating refresh tokens, and all traffic to the Service is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
9. Children
StreakParty is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Our infrastructure may be located in countries other than your own. Where data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an equivalent standard of protection.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
